FRIDAY, Sept. 19, 2:31 p.m. — Two 31-year-old males who entered the Couper Administration Building were told by officers to leave, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton New York State University Police.

One of the males was “persona non grata” status, meaning he is no longer allowed to come on campus for any reason. The male has formerly lived on campus, but was never a student. He had come onto campus to talk about his status and get it changed, but was told to leave, which he did. The administration declined further prosecution.

FRIDAY, Oct. 3, 1:16 a.m. — Officers responded to an anonymous report of a violation of College-in-the-Woods’ Oneida Hall’s quiet hours, Bush said. Loud music was coming from a single suite, in which two 19-year-old males and two 18-year-old males live. All four boys were present, in addition to a 20-year-old female student of another residence hall.

Officers advised the students of the residence hall’s quiet hours and the students agreed to keep the music down. No further action will be taken.

FRIDAY, Oct. 3, 1:43 a.m. — A 50-year-old taxi driver called for assistance when an 18-year-old male student attempted to flee a cab parked near the information booth, Bush said.

The driver and the student had gotten into an argument after the student had apparently urinated in the back seat. When the driver stopped the cab to check if this had actually occurred, the suspect opened a door and took off.

Officers located the student in the wooded area by Parking Lot C and took him into custody. They returned him to the driver, who chose not to have the suspect arrested, although they did make the student clean up the car.

SATURDAY, Oct. 4, 7:11 p.m. — A 17-year-old male student returned to his room in Dickinson Community’s Digman Hall to find many items missing, Bush said.

The student was sure that the door had been secure, though when he returned he found his $500 television, $500 Playstation 3 and $120 Lexmark 2600 printer missing, along with his computer speakers, PS3 games and numerous videos. Police have no suspects.

SUNDAY, Oct. 5, 3:51 p.m. — A male resident assistant of Hinman College’s Smith Hall contacted officers about a heated argument between a 20-year-old female and a 23-year-old female in one of the suites, Bush said.

The older student had been living in the suite illegally for most of the semester. She had been playing her music too loudly, which had angered the younger student. The older female was advised that she couldn’t live in the suite as a guest for longer than a three-day period. She has an apartment off campus. No further action has been taken.
