WEDNESDAY, Oct. 22, 10:59 a.m. — Officers discovered a bong and a grinder in a room while investigating a fire alarm in College-in-the-Woods’ Mohawk Hall, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. The officers confronted the 18-year-old resident of the room, who admitted ownership and produced a pipe and a small bag of residue. All items were destroyed and the student will be referred to Judicial Affairs.

THURSDAY, Oct. 23, 2 p.m. — Officers responded to a report of the smell of marijuana in Newing College’s Broome Hall, Bush said. They located the room the smell was coming from and knocked on the door, with no response. Police then located the 19-year-old male resident of the room outside, and he let the officers into the room. Upon entry, they found another 19-year-old male student, along with a glass pipe, lighters, baggies with residue and a pocket knife. The paraphernalia was destroyed and the knife was confiscated and secured at the University police office. The students will be referred to Judicial Affairs.

SUNDAY, Oct. 26, 2:37 a.m. — A 19-year-old male student’s lost wallet was found on an Off Campus College Transport Blue Bus and was turned in to the University Police, Bush said. When the student went to retrieve the wallet, the officers asked if everything in the wallet was his. When the student said yes, the officers questioned him about a fake driver’s license found in the wallet. The student will go to trial in November for possession of a forged instrument.

MONDAY, Oct. 27, 11:48 a.m. — Parking Services located an illegally parked car in the Glenn G. Bartle Library parking lot, which displayed a parking permit which had been reported stolen, Bush said. Officers were contacted and the car was booted. The 22-year-old male student who owned the car told officers he had purchased the permit from an older male for $20 less than the normal rate. The student thought that the older male had been an employee. To get his car back, the student had to promise that he would purchase the parking permit at full price.
