We all secretly love a gratuitous sex scene. Couple that with drugs, violence, a disregard for the law and some good old plastic surgery and there’s only one show on TV that fits the bill.

“Nip/Tuck,” now in its sixth and final season, follows the professional and personal lives of doctors Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh) and Christian Troy (Julian McMahon). Among the many things they share, the most important is McNamara/Troy, their plastic surgery practice.

Season 5, split into two parts — which aired in January 2008 and January 2009 — brought just as much drama as previous seasons, as well as the usual number of psychotic characters. The season finale of part two, which aired on March 3, 2009, left us with Christian preparing to live out his final months after being diagnosed with cancer and Sean trying to cope with losing his best friend while keeping their practice afloat. In the show’s final minute, Christian receives a shocking phone call in which he learns that his doctor accidentally mixed up his file with another patient; he is not dying, but is in remission.

Now, a few weeks after this life-changing phone call, Season 6 picks right up. Christian is back to his bad boy, sex-driven ways which, lets be honest, are way more exciting than his boring role from last season. Due to the economic crisis, we find a depressed and insomnia-ridden Sean who is desperately trying to salvage his business and his life. Matt, the biological son of Christian who was raised by Sean (yeah, that’s right, but it’s not anywhere near as messed up as the plot line usually gets), once again changes his career to — drum roll please — miming. Yeah, I’m talking the whole deal with the face paint, striped shirt and beret.

Dr. Mike Hamoui (Mario Lopez), a plastic surgeon from Season 4, is back again. At the request of Sean and Christian, who need business to help their struggling practice, they strike a deal in which he will come work for them and bring in new clients. What kind of clients does he bring in? Women seeking vaginal rejuvenation surgery.

As always, the season premiere brought the same number of crazy characters and the start of some insane plot lines which will hopefully prove to make a very entertaining season.

“Nip/Tuck” airs on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on FX.
