Congratulations to the New York Mets! They advance to the NLCS, but unfortunately will not have the added subplot of a homecoming for Mike Piazza, since Piazza’s Padres fell to the St. Louis Cardinals. Luckily, the Cardinals do return longtime Mets star Braden Looper to Shea; when he enters a game, expect a huge standing ovation from the Flushing faithful.

Many people were commenting on how adorable it was to watch the gritty Detroit Tigers celebrate their victory over the overpaid New York Yankees. That’s not adorable; has anyone ever seen Magglio Ordonez? Now if the Tigers players were all Care Bears, that would be adorable.

The women’s soccer team finally lost at home this weekend, ending the myth that West Gym Field was actually built on an ancient Indian burial ground.

It’s been seven years since the United States won the Ryder Cup. Isn’t it about time that the Americans just sent the BU golf team to the competition? Sergio Garcia has nothing on Zach Vinal.
