Police Watch

TUESDAY, April 10, 1:15 a.m. ‘ Three male students were arrested and charged in connection with a marijuana odor found in Dickinson Community’s Digman Hall, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police.

The students, one 19 and the other two 18, were charged with fourth degree criminal possession of marijuana, an ‘A’ misdemeanor.

Campus police made the arrests after responding to a report of the odor by staff of the Office of Residential Life.

The students will appear in Vestal Town Court on April 24 at 5:30 p.m.

THURSDAY, April 12, 9:03 a.m. ‘ A female building administrator reported to campus police that an $1,800 Sharp projector was stolen from Science IV between 5 p.m. Thursday, March 29 and 9 a.m., Thursday, April 12.

Police do not know if the projector had been chained or locked at the time of its theft, Bush said.

THURSDAY, April 12, 8:30 p.m. ‘ A 21-year-old male student reported a burglary of property worth $2,450 from his room in College-in-the-Woods’ Seneca Hall between Saturday, March 24 and Friday, March 30.

The stolen goods included a wallet with ID, $800 cash (but no credit cards), an Apple iPod, two digital cameras and one Motorola Bluetooth Headset.

The victim does not know how the burglar entered the room; there was no report as to whether or not he had left his door open. Police have no suspects.

The student chose not to pursue further action.

THURSDAY, April 12, 8:47 p.m. ‘ A 21-year-old male student reported to campus police that someone had placed a pebble in the valve stem of a tire on his Cadillac Escalade parked in Hillside Community’s Lot ZZ South, deflating the tire.

The suspect is unknown.
