FRIDAY, March 21, 1 a.m. — A 26-year-old male student had to call a tow truck after his 1997 burgundy Nissan Sentra was stuck on Dickinson Community’s co-rec field, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police.
“He got it stuck on the grass driving on the sidewalk,” Bush said.
Officers on patrol spotted the student and told him he may be held responsible for the damage to the grass. The cost to fix the grass is $50. No arrests were made.
SUNDAY, March 23, 5:21 p.m. — A resident assistant reported to police that there was a hole in the wall between two suite entrances on the third floor of Mountainview College’s Windham Hall, Bush said. The hole will cost $200 to fix. The residents of both rooms will be billed at the end of the semester. Police do not know how the hole got there.
TUESDAY, March 25, 4:25 a.m. — A 25-year-old male cleaner set off an alarm at the University Downtown Center when he opened an empty Automated External Defibrillator cabinet, Bush said.
“AED cabinets are alarmed,” Bush said. “For whatever reason, this gentleman opened it.”
The cleaner opened it out of “just curiosity,” Bush said. “He’s advised not to touch it. His supervisor was made aware.”
The cabinet was empty because AEDs have not been installed in the UDC’s cabinets yet, Bush said.
WEDNESDAY, March 26, 8 a.m. — A grounds employee found a vehicle boot in Parking Lot M1 east of Susquehanna Community, Bush said.
“Somehow the boot was removed from the vehicle without the fine being paid,” Bush said.
The boot had originally been attached to a male dining hall employee’s 1993 blue Mercury Marquee. Police made no arrests and the incident is pending investigation.
WEDNESDAY, March 26, 9 a.m. — A 29-year-old male Environmental Health and Safety employee reported that a $200 “large pair of bolt cutters” was taken from Health Services on or around Feb. 6. The tool can be used to cut chains, wire and padlocks. Police have no suspects.
WEDNESDAY, March 26, 6:30 p.m. — A 59-year-old female cleaner reported that two toilet paper dispensers had been damaged in the men’s locker room in the police station in the Couper Administration Building, Bush said. The cost of damages is $25. Police have no suspects.
