The Big Bear Ultimate Frisbee club team was placed on suspension after breaking an agreement with the department of Intramurals & Club Sports at Binghamton University during a tournament weekend.

The team split into an A-team and a B-team for their tournament last month where the A-team went to Edinburgh University of Pennsylvania and the B-team to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
The team made an agreement with Craig Dube, assistant director of Intramurals & Club Sports, that they would bring an executive board member to each tournament.
“In an effort to make our team as competitive as possible, both E-board members who had attended the president’s meetings at the beginning of the semester were placed in the A-team roster,” said Justin Pierce, president of the Frisbee team. “The team did not inform Craig of this change.”
This change was brought to the attention of the University when a member of the team playing at the B-tournament, who was not listed on the roster, was hurt. There was no E-board member at this tournament.
“These incidents coupled together led to a hearing with the club sports rules committee,” Pierce said. “We are currently on suspension from attending any tournaments, however practices are still being held, weather permitting.”
The team will be allowed to attend tournaments as of next semester.
According to Pierce, the team is unable to attend any tournaments, but hope to continue their season with a strong showing at sectionals.
Dube declined comment.
