– No Shaun Alexander and no Matt Hasselbeck? No problem! For the second time this season against the St. Louis Rams, Josh Brown kicked a last-second field goal to win the game for the Seattle Seahawks. Good thing for the ’Hawks that the Madden curse did not spread to their kicker.

– Another New York Giants game, another giant injury. This time it was offensive tackle Luke Petitgout, who broke his leg and is probably out for the remainder of the season. He will be added to the ever-growing list of Giants starters who will miss/have missed games due to injury.

– The New York Jets’ win against the New England Patriots was more than just a key divisional win. This is the first time the Pats have lost back to back games in 57 contests. Wondering what team gave New England a two-game losing streak the last time? Well that would also be the Jets in a 30-17 win back in December 2002.

– What do the Minnesota Vikings, Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins and Arizona Cardinals all have in common? They all have fewer team touchdowns than LaDainian Tomlinson does by himself. The Chargers’ running back has 16 touchdowns in nine games this season (and that’s just rushing!).

– After throwing for more than 260 yards and three touchdowns in weeks seven and eight, Michael Vick has fallen back to Earth. Since then, the Atlanta QB has thrown for less than 200 yards and only one touchdown. Not only that, but he has turned the ball over three times to teams with a combined 5-13 record these last two weeks. Maybe being proclaimed by some as a “serious MVP candidate” was a little too rash.

– Did you see the hit San Diego Charger safety Marlon McCree put on Cincinnati Bengal wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh? The words cheap shot couldn’t even describe it effectively. I’ll be horribly disappointed if McCree doesn’t receive a suspension for the hit by the time this publishes.

– Brett Farve threw two touchdowns and no interceptions for the Green Bay Packers in a 23-17 win against the Minnesota Vikings. In games during which Farve has thrown a pick, the Packers are 0-4. In games where he’s been interception-free: 4-1.

– The Houston Texans beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 13-10 on Sunday and swept the season series, 2-0. The Texans might talk to the head of scheduling next season to plead for more games against the Jags, considering that they are a stellar 1-6 against the rest of the league this year.

– Two years ago, Steve McNair throwing a touchdown pass to Derrick Mason would bring nothing but joy to Tennessee Titans fans. But now, that brings nothing but grief. McNair and Mason, suiting up for the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, connected on a touchdown pass that proved to be the game winner as the Ravens beat the Titans 27-26.
