Jacksonville (+1 1/2) over Miami
Sports’ biggest interstate rivalry returns for another exciting battle on Sunday — this time with playoff implications. Jacksonville has been one of the most underrated teams all season and, as of late, one of the most inconsistent. With five weeks left, this is a must-win situation for the Jags.
Upset Special
Detroit (+14) over New England
Detroit takes pride in becoming the first 10-loss team in the league every season, and nothing is going to change this weekend. However, after watching Joey Harrington throw three touchdown passes in Detroit for an opposing team, and on Thanksgiving of all days, Lions fans are due for a break. New England by 10.
Indianapolis (–8) over Tennessee
According to my bookie Lewis, the spread is only eight because Mike Vanderjagt has already dropped $3 million on the Titans. Eight is a lot sexier than the 19-point difference when these two teams first met, and the Colts should cover easily.
Buffalo (+6 1/2) over San Diego
Every time a team has emerged as the most dominant force in the league (Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, Indianapolis, etc.) they have lost the following week. When Buffalo provides this week’s shocker, remember, you read it here first.
