The Binghamton University women’s cross country team was in New Britain, Conn. this past weekend, taking fifth place at the 14-team Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Mini Meet.

Senior Rachel Miura led the Bearcats with a 16th-place finish overall. She ran the 3,000 meter course in a time of 10:41.

Not far behind was freshman Alexis Hatcher, who placed 20th with a time of 10:46. Freshmen who also placed were Lizzie Greiner in 28th, Naomi Barnett in 35th and Liz Valento in 51st.

Yale University finished in first place in the team standings, while Bryant University sophomore Eimear Black took the individual title with a time of 10:03.

Both the men’s and women’s cross country teams are scheduled to return to action on Oct. 27 at the America East Championship in New Hampshire.
