After a stellar freshman season, Binghamton guard Jordan Reed earned spots on the America East’s all-rookie team and third team all-conference, the league announced at its awards ceremony on Friday evening. No other Bearcats received accolades.

Reed’s 9.5 rebounds per game led the conference, while his 16.6 points per game ranked second. Maine sophomore guard Justin Edwards narrowly snagged the scoring title with 16.7 points per game.

Reed would have been the first America East freshman to win the scoring and rebounding titles in the same season.

Stony Brook swept the four major awards, with senior forward Tommy Brenton taking Player of the Year as well as Defensive Player of the Year, freshman forward Jameel Warney receiving Rookie of the Year and Steve Pikiell garnering Coach of the Year.

Brenton, who also won Defensive Player of the Year as a junior, became only the second America East player to take both the POY and DPOY in the same season.
