Peter Oberacker currently represents New York State Senate 51st District, including Delaware, Otsego, Schoharie and Sullivan counties, and is now running to serve New York’s 19th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. A graduate of SUNY Delhi, Oberacker has run his family sausage business upstate and has spent four decades as a volunteer firefighter and EMT. A member of the Republican Party, Oberacker has said in interviews that he is focused on supporting farmers and agricultural economic needs and received an endorsement from President Donald Trump in February this year.
