The student received an e-mail from an alleged “WebMail Coordinator” which claimed that her password must be confirmed in order for her to continue using WebMail. The student proceeded to reply to the e-mail with a message including her password. The following day the student realized that several of her saved e-mails had been deleted, and several new ones had been opened by someone else. Currently police have no suspects. THURSDAY, Sept. 10, 10:37 p.m. — A 20-year-old male student reportedly set off the fire alarm in Saratoga Hall of Hillside Community, Bush said. When officers on patrol responded, they discovered that there was no fire. They knocked on the door of the student whose fire alarm had gone off, and noticed a faint odor of marijuana. They also observed that a fan was blowing air out of the window, and the ventilation duct had been taped shut to stop circulation. When allowed into the room, the student admitted to lighting incense, but not to possession of marijuana. Patrol advised him that doing so is a violation of housing rules, as is taping a vent shut. Vestal’s fire department arrived later and reset the alarm system.
