Three-alarm blazed

TUESDAY, March 13, 2:08 p.m. ‘ While doing checks in a suite in Susquehanna Community’s Brandywine Hall, Environmental Health and Safety found at least three smoke detectors ‘covered with plastic or a plastic cone,’ said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. Bush said that the covered detectors, which were located in a bedroom, hallway and common room, would take longer to recognize that a fire had broken out. ‘That’s serious. You’re endangering everyone in that residence hall,’ Bush said. Two of the suite’s male residents, 19 and 20, were referred to the campus disciplinary system.
