WEDNESDAY, Feb. 17, 9:23 p.m. — Patrol received report of an odor of marijuana coming from one of the rooms in Rafuse Hall of Dickinson Community, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. The local resident director and resident assistant of the hall in question met with police and brought them to the room, where the occupant opened the door and willingly spoke with them. When police told him of the odor, the 19-year-old male suspect became agitated and stated that this was the second time in the last week that he had been accused of such, and he did not even smoke. He allowed patrol entry into the room, whereupon they noticed several empty beer cans scattered around the floor. They asked the suspect if they were his and if there was more in the refrigerator — the suspect replied that they were not his and if they belonged to anyone it would be his roommate. After a further search, police found a glass pipe, to which the suspect admitted possession. Patrol arrested the suspect.
THURSDAY, Feb. 18, 5:40 a.m. — A 22-year-old male non-student filed a walk-in report of aggravated harassment in the front parking lot of Mohawk Hall in College-in-the-Woods, Bush said. The victim received a threatening phone call from a blocked number, during which the unknown suspect stated that he knew the victim and the victim’s family, and intended to hurt them. The victim stated that this was not the first time he has received such a call, and has reported it to the appropriate authorities in different locations. Police have no suspects.
FRIDAY, Feb. 19, 4:50 p.m. — A 26-year-old male student filed a walk-in report to police when he noticed that his M&T bank account was lower than it should have been, Bush said. Furthermore, the victim noticed that there were several unauthorized uses of the card listed in his account. He stated that he did not know anyone who would have used his card, but that he had given his card information to several Web sites including Binghamton University’s. Police have no suspects.
