Lock:

MIAMI (-8.5) over Seattle: A win for the Dolphins creates an “anyone’s game” situation in the AFC East. Miami has now gone a second week as the “team to defy the odds,” beating the Broncos last Sunday. The Dolphins have unleashed all hell with Chad Pennington’s arm and their passing game. Add to that the fact that the Seahawks have to travel east, something Seattle has had a hard time adjusting to: they lost away games to Buffalo, the Giants and Tampa Bay, all East Coast teams.

ARIZONA (-9.5) over San Francisco: Last week the Cardinals extended their lead over division rival St. Louis. This week they look to do the same against the 49ers. It’s a win that would allow Arizona to run away with the division. I said it before and I’ll say it again, the Cards have an amazing pass offense game, but need to improve their rush game. Their passing will get them to the playoffs, but an upgrade in their rush game plan would ensure success in the postseason.

Tennessee (-3) over CHICAGO: The streets of the Windy City have calmed down since the historic events that took place Tuesday night, but there are some “bad-news bears” for Chicago: Tennessee is coming to town. The Titans continue their impressive season and Chicago’s QB, Kyle Orton, has an ankle injury, which might sideline him this Sunday.

Jacksonville (-6.5) over DETROIT: The “Game of the Weak” brings together the big cats, the Lions and Jaguars. Though not the most anticipated matchup of the week, it is an interesting one, as both teams look for change — not the change President-elect Barack Obama looks to bring to America, but a change to salvage what’s left of their terrible seasons. This is a virtual tie in their passing strategy, but the Lions’ defense is pathetic.
