Over the last two days, approximately 1,300 students voted in the Student Association Executive Board elections, down from last year’s count of 1,943. Election Committee Chair Mike Calabrese said that the drop in the number of voters could be a result of the lack of controversy surrounding this year’s election, as well as the fire that closed down the Dickinson Dining Hall, where Dickinson residents normally voted. This year only 79 Dickinson residents voted at the new site in the Old University Union.
Students also voted to uphold the mandatory Student Activity Fee, with 809 in favor and 317 against. The mandatory fee, which is currently $86.50 per student, goes toward student groups, the SA budget and keeping concert prices and other fees for students down.
