YouTube has been a blessing — and a curse — since its creation in 2005. The Web site has created superstars out of normal people and given 15 minutes of fame to anybody willing to make a fool out of themselves. Also, it’s been a wonderful distraction from our studies. What was the world like without YouTube? Did people actually write their senior thesis and finish projects? Since we’re clearly not doing any of those things, it’s time for Release’s favorite YouTube videos … ones you’ve probably never seen!

Two belligerent people, one children’s movie. How are you not sold already? Well, if it helps, these guys have bizarre accents and curse at each other and mistake Pokemon for Chinese meth dragons.

A classic from Bravo’s “Being Bobby Brown” reality series. This is Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, clearly not at their finest. Try replicating their dance — it’s fun.

This is probably our favorite newest video. Who hasn’t imagined what life would be like if people just broke out into a random song and dance number? We have, and it’d probably look a lot like this. If only this happened in the Peace Quad and not in Belgium …

More train station fun! Not as poppy as the “Do Re Mi” number but equally as amusing. It must be really fun to mess with commuters. Here, over 200 people freeze in place for a couple of minutes, leaving the other travelers bewildered.

Most of us at Release love cat videos [Editor’s Note: Ashley Morgan does not] and this one creeped us out. Watch as the cat, appropriately called “Ninja Cat,” comes closer and closer … without moving.

“Heyyyy y’all, it’s me Fantasia Barrino …” So the jokes about “American Idol” season three winner Fantasia Barrino may be a bit dated, but they still bring the “LULZ,” making this video a winner. It even confused several staffers who thought it was the real pop singer.

Talk about inspiration! This 47-year-old woman blew us away with her singing voice. That’s real talent in a sort of strange-looking package. This is about to be/already is an Internet video sensation — she’s bound for stardom.

A classic! How can you not enjoy the absurdity that is Raven Symone singing about a bus with a cameo by Donny Osmond? Like the movie it’s from, “College Road Trip,” we’re not sure why this little music video oddity exists, but it makes us happy!
