The sexual assault against a female student that Binghamton University police say occurred early Saturday morning happened in Dickinson’s Digman Hall. The newspaper reported on Tuesday that it occurred in Newing. The report was based on incorrect information provided by the BU police.

William Marulanda Jr., originally from Queens, N.Y., remains in Broome County Jail without bail on charges of forcible attempted rape, a felony. He is still awaiting a second court appearance in court. According to the inmate-records office, Marulanda, 20, is being held in segregated housing because people accused of rape are themselves more likely to be subject to violence in jail.
