Lock: Pittsburgh (-3.0) over CHICAGO

I looked up and down the spread and this is really the only lock that looks moderately safe. The Bears looked terrible and Jay Cutler seriously disappointed me. With the loss of Brian Urlacher the Bears are looking extremely weak. I like the Steelers to win by more than a touchdown.

New Orleans (PK) over PHILADELPHIA

With no spread to worry about I feel more confident saying the Saints will win. Drew Brees was outstanding against the Lions last week. I do realize the Eagles’ defense is 1,000 times better than Detroit, but the Saints look really solid offensively. With McNabb questionable, the Saints look good to start off 2-0.

Cleveland (+3.0) over DENVER

Call me crazy for picking the Browns any week of the season — except maybe this one. The Browns’ defense held up in the first half against the Vikings in Week 1 before Peterson ran all over them. Against the Broncos, though, offensively and defensively I see some serious changes coming for Cleveland. I always need at least one mini-upset and this is it.

SAN DIEGO (-3.0) over Baltimore

A sluggish Week 1 for the Chargers should spur some confidence this week. Even if LT sits out, look for Sproles to fill their running game. The Ravens’ defense is as tough as they come and will force Rivers to have a great game. I will keep my fingers crossed that LT plays.
