MONDAY, Feb. 15, 5:50 p.m. — A 21-year-old female student told police that a male taxi driver pulled her bags out of his cab, grabbed her by the hands and forced her to exit the vehicle, according to Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. According to the 40-year-old driver, the student entered the taxi along with six other passengers at the Short Line bus stop Downtown. The driver said he dropped off all the other passengers and was by the Hillside Community bus stop when he asked where she was going. When she told him she was going to Johnson City, the driver refused to take her. The student chose not to press charges.

MONDAY, Feb. 15, 10:55 p.m. — A fire alarm was pulled in Newing College’s Endicott Hall, Bush said. Dispatchers received a pull station alarm, and two officers reported to the scene, along with Vestal Fire Department. Officers investigated all three floors on the A and B sides of the building and found no smell or sight of fire. Police suspect it was falsely pulled, and they have no suspects.

TUESDAY, Feb. 16, 1 p.m. — A 19-year-old male student claimed that an 18-year-old male student continued to make invitations of homosexual activity even after the victim requested the suspect to stop, Bush said. The victim, who is heterosexual, told police that the suspect had contacted him by e-mail, asking why he had not visited for Valentine’s Day. This was allegedly one of the most recent events in a situation that has been ongoing since September 2009. The victim chose to bring the case to the Office of Student Conduct.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 17, 1:31 p.m. — A 46-year-old female cleaner reported an instance of defacement in a men’s bathroom in Academic Building A, Bush said. The cleaner said that someone had smeared the wall of a stall with fecal matter. The mess was cleaned before police arrived. Investigation is pending.
