Stony Brook University and University of Hartford will go head-to-head on Sunday to determine this year’s America East men’s soccer champion.

On Wednesday night, the second-seeded Seawolves knocked off University at Albany 3-1, netting all three goals in the second half. Hartford, the fifth seed, upset top-seeded Boston University, 1-0.

Stony Brook will be making its second conference championship game appearance in three years. In 2009, the Seawolves fell to University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the AE title game.

After posting a 1-5-1 mark in conference play, Binghamton University failed to qualify for the annual postseason tournament for the first time since 2002.

Kickoff for the championship match is set for 6 p.m. Sunday at Stony Brook’s LaValle Stadium.
