The Binghamton men’s tennis team found success on its home courts over the weekend, recording an A doubles and C singles title at the Binghamton Championships.

The Binghamton Championships, which took place from Friday through Sunday at the Binghamton Tennis Center, were attended by Colgate, Niagara, NJIT, St. Thomas Aquinas and Mid-American Conference opponent Buffalo.

In the A doubles championship match, it was a faceoff between two Bearcat pairs. The duo of sophomore Ludovico Cestarollo and freshman Tiago Lourenco took down teammates sophomore Valentin Bouchet and classmate Josh Druger, 6-0. Cestarollo and Lourenco went undefeated in three matches prior to the final.

In singles play, it was another battle of the Bearcats, as the winning double pair took on one another in A semifinals flight. Lourenco edged Cestarollo, 7-6, before falling to Buffalo freshman Hao Sheng Koay.

In C singles play, Binghamton freshman Sebastian Quiros swept freshman teammate Agustin Cattoretti, 6-0, 6-0, in the championship match.

Binghamton is set to return to the court on Saturday at the Lehigh Invitational. First serve is scheduled for 8 a.m. at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center in Lehigh, Pennsylvania.
