Drunk pledge pees in trash room sink

TUESDAY, Oct. 31, 8:08 a.m. — A 21-year-old Residential Life employee contacted UPD after discovering three individuals — two 19-year-old males and one 21-year-old-male — in the trash room of Rafuse Hall in Dickinson Community. One of the 19-year-old males was peeing in the trash room sink. UPD questioned the males and discovered that they’d come to Rafuse Hall to sing to the sorority girls who lived there as part of a pledging process for a fraternity. The males admitted getting lost trying to find the girls’ room and couldn’t find a bathroom, so they went to the trash room instead. All three males were intoxicated. The 19-year-old male who used the trash room sink as a urinal was referred to Student Conduct.

Burnt toast leads to marijuana discovery

TUESDAY, Oct. 31, 1:45 p.m. — Officers responded to a fire alarm in Glimmerglass Hall of Hillside Community. A 19-year-old male told officers that he had been cooking bread in the microwave, which had caused the fire alarm to go off. Officers noticed that in addition to the burnt smell of the bread, they smelled a faint odor of marijuana. When they discovered a green leafy substance in the male’s room, the male admitted that the substance was marijuana. He then said that although he was in possession of marijuana, he had not been smoking prior to the alarm going off and that the food had caused the alarm. Officers found that there was a piece of burnt bread in the microwave, and reset the fire alarm. The male was referred to Student Conduct.

The employee had taken cash from customers who did not need change and pretended to press buttons on the cash register before pocketing the money. She had also concealed two bags of chips and two sodas under her register without paying for them. Sodexo decided to handle the situation through its human resources department.
