Dorm Room Degenerates

THURSDAY, Mar. 10, 7:47 p.m. — Officers were called to O’Connor Hall in Dickinson Community to address a loud party complaint, said Investigator Patrick Reilly of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. The officers were called by the resident assistant of O’Connor, who met them when they arrived on the scene. According to those who made the complaint, male residents on the ground floor had been playing music very loud late at night. In the past, the victims would pound on the wall and ask them to quiet down but lately the males would just yell back obscenities. The residents were told to keep the noise down.

Road (Unde)Rage

FRIDAY, Mar. 11, 1:19 a.m. — Officers reported to a harassment on Bingham Service Drive early Friday, Reilly said. Upon arrival, the taxicab driver, who had originally called the police, was holding back the victim, an 18-year-old female. The driver stated that a male had punched the female and that that was the reason for her distress. The officers caught up with the suspect who was trying to leave the scene and, since he was being uncooperative, placed him in handcuffs. While checking the 18-year-old suspect’s ID, the officers came across IDs from New York, Connecticut and Michigan. The suspect claimed they weren’t his, despite them falling out of his wallet. According to those interviewed, a dispute had started in the cab back to campus. It escalated once they arrived and eventually ended with the suspect punching the victim above her left eye. The case will go through Student Conduct.

If You See Something, Spray Something

FRIDAY, Mar. 11, 10:02 a.m. — The resident director of Seneca Hall in College-in-the-Woods contacted UPD to report spray paint on the exterior of Oneida Hall, Reilly said. The paint was apparently discovered a week ago, but was never reported. It could not be determined what the spray paint was of at this point in time, and a work order was placed to have the paint removed. There are no known suspects at this time.

Lost or Lifted?

FRIDAY, Mar. 11, 4:50 p.m. — Officers were contacted late Friday afternoon to report a larceny, Reilly said. The victim, a 23-year-old male, called to report the theft of his VGA cable. He was in the University Union for a meeting but left the room and forgot it there. He contacted the organizers of the meeting but they said that they did not find any cables. The investigation is still ongoing.
