SUNDAY, FEB. 20, 3:50 a.m. — An 18-year-old female student reported that someone had written the word “bitch” on the dry erase board on the door of her room in Newing College’s Endicott Hall and had then kicked the door before running away, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. The victim saw the two suspects running down the hall, and police found them after a brief search. The officers noticed that the suspects had written on several other dry erase boards in the building, and upon speaking to them, gave the suspects the option of being arrested for criminal mischief or cleaning up their graffiti. The suspects, one a 19-year-old male student and the other, a visiting 18-year-old male, chose to clean up the graffiti under the officers’ supervision.

SUNDAY, FEB. 20, 4:05 a.m. — A 35-year-old cab driver reported to University Police that a student he dropped off at Hinman College’s Hughes Hall had made a threat against his life while another student took down his cab information, Bush said. The cab driver did not know the suspects’ names, and though officers on patrol searched the area for the suspects, the officers were unable to find them. It was unclear what started the argument, but the officers suspected it was due to the language barrier with the cab driver. The case is pending investigation.
