THURSDAY, FEB. 24, 11:22 a.m. — University Police received a backpack that had been misplaced in the Fine Arts Building, said Investigator Patrick J. Reilly of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. The 20-year-old male student who lost the backpack came to claim it, but after returning to his room he found that his iPod was missing from both his backpack and his room. The victim then filed a criminal report, but there are no suspects.

THURSDAY, FEB. 24, 11:02 p.m. — A 22-year-old male student reported that the front license plate had been stolen off his car, Reilly said. The student had parked his car in Lot M-1 for a few hours, but when he returned he found that the license plate was gone. The case is pending investigation, but there are no suspects.

FRIDAY, FEB. 25, 2:18 a.m. — University Police responded to a complaint by a 42-year-old male cab driver that his passenger did not have enough money to pay his cab fare and had run away, Reilly said. The victim had dropped off his passenger at Lot Y-4, behind Mountainview College. The police were able to track down the suspect and he agreed to pay his cab fare, rather than face charges of theft of services.
