The Binghamton wrestling squad looks to start February off on the right foot when it hosts matches against James Madison and Sacred Heart tomorrow at the West Gym.

The Bearcats will kick things off with an 11 a.m. matchup with the James Madison Dukes, which will be followed by a 2 p.m. duel versus the Sacred Heart Pioneers. Both records are conference matches for the wrestling team, which competes in the Colonial Athletic Association.

With a 6-19 overall record, the Dukes do not appear to be a formidable opponent on paper, but after a 1-12 start to the season, they have started to turn things around with a 5-7 record over their last 12 matches.

This will be Binghamton’s second match of the season against Sacred Heart, which posted a 29-18 victory over the Bearcats on Jan. 7 in Connecticut. With a more established lineup and a few guys moving up in their respective weight classes, the Bearcats seem better prepared to tackle the Pioneers.

Although the Bearcats have come away with six victories this season, they have yet to win any matches back-to-back. Thanks to the strong performances of some new faces, particularly freshman Josh Patterson, the team is ready for a solid winning streak and its chances of starting one tomorrow are promising.
