The Bearcats did not let their fans down on Friday.

The second-ranked team silenced the first-ranked team — and any doubters — in a resounding sweep of the Albany Great Danes. What does this mean, in terms of the conference?

First off, Albany is no longer the power house it once was after losing three hitters last year. The team still needs time to work out the kinks before it can return as a top caliber contender. Also, anyone who thought that last year’s America East champion Bearcats team was a fluke should reconsider. Binghamton has showed that it is still the team to beat in the America East, exemplified by the victory and senior outside hitter Katie Robertson being named America East player of the week.

The BU volleyball team has remained, for the most part, intact from last season, and the girls have proved that they show up big when they truly want the win.
