Cameron Keith: Men’s Soccer
Keith, a junior forward had a total of 10 points in 14 games for the season. Keith burst into the scene scoring five goals to win two straight games against Cornell and Boston University, respectively. His efforts earned him last year’s title of America East Striker of the Year as the Scottish native topped the conference in shots, points and goals.
Dawn Lammert: Women’s Volleyball/Track and Field
Playing just one sport is quite the challenge for most athletes, but for this Bearcat, playing two is a charm. You can find Binghamton junior Dawn Lammert playing volleyball in the fall and competing in the high jump in the spring.
Chretien Lukusa: Men’s Basketball
Known as Binghamton University’s own “glue guy,” sophomore Chretien Lukusa became a dominant force since his addition to the BU Basketball lineup last season.
Erica Carter: Women’s Basketball
Carter ranked second in 3-point shooting percentage (.389) in the AE last season. The sophomore also was second on the team in both points (9.8) and assists (1.6).
Larry Kline: Men’s Lacrosse
Kline, a senior, ranked fourth in the AE in save percentage (.564) while making 8.82 saves a game. He also stands fourth in goals against average (7.41) and at one point was No. 1 in the NCAA in the category.
Jeff Dennis: Men’s Baseball
The Oakland Athletics selected the 6-foot-6 left-handed Dennis in the 40th round of the 2008 MLB First Year Player Draft in early June.
Arnav Jain: Men’s Tennis
Hailing from Mumbai, India, Jain brings with him both skill and heart to Binghamton tennis. The sophomore had a phenomenal singles record of 18-3 for the season and clinched the decisive match in the America East Championship.
Anna Edelman: Women’s Tennis
Edelman, along with doubles partner Lauren Bates, turned what was thought to be a rebuilding year for Binghamton’s women’s tennis team into a success. Edelman had an overall record of 24-7 for the season, including 14-4 in dual matches and was named AE Rookie of the Year.
Josh Patterson: Men’s Wrestling
Patterson has been to two NCAA tournaments since the start of his career.
Brenno Varanda: Men’s Swimming and Diving
Varanda holds Binghamton University’s record for the 200-yard breaststroke for which he was named top swimmer at the America East Championships. Varanda was also named 2007-08 AE Winter Scholar-Athlete and team MVP after finishing the year with a team-high 24 wins and seven individual AE titles.
