FRIDAY, Sept. 25, 1:57 a.m. — Officers on patrol responded to a taxi driver who flagged them down to report a case of harassment in parking lot Y4, said Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police. The driver directed them to a female student who said that she and a friend had entered a taxi to take them back to campus from Downtown. The girl said that her friend, a 21-year-old female student, had gotten in an argument with a 24-year-old male student in the taxi. Upon exiting the taxi on campus, the male struck the girl in the face with a closed fist and ran off. Patrol later found the suspect and spoke with him about the offense — he appeared to be inebriated and repeatedly denied that he had done anything wrong. Prosecution has been declined.

TUESDAY, Sept. 29, 10:15 a.m. — A 19-year-old male student reported being harassed by another 19-year-old male student in Dickinson College’s O’Connor Hall, Bush said. The victim told police there was a disagreement between the two, and the suspect took offense to something the victim had said. The suspect proceeded to chase the victim down the hall, and when he caught him, slammed him into a wall several times. The suspect was arrested and issued an appearance ticket for Thursday, Oct. 1 at 5:30 p.m. in Vestal Town Court.

TUESDAY, Sept. 29, 6:14 p.m. — A female member of Residential Life reported a trespasser in Hillside Community, Bush said. She said that another witness had reported seeing a 22-year-old male student who was not allowed to be in the community sitting in his car on two occasions that day. On the first occasion the suspect was only sitting in the parking lot, but on the second occasion he was talking to several other students. The suspect left the area before patrol arrived, and so far no judicial action has been taken.

TUESDAY Sept. 29, 7:17 p.m. — An unknown suspect stole a Nintendo Wii, two controllers and seven games from the common room of a suite in Hinman College’s Roosevelt Hall, Bush said. The owner of the belongings, an 18-year-old male student, had gone home for the weekend and on his return found that they were gone. All of the other suite residents had gone home that weekend, except for one. The student who remained over the weekend told police that he had no one over during that weekend. He mentioned that someone could have come in at any time, however, since the suite door was unlocked. The total value of the stolen belongings is estimated at approximately $500.
