WEDNESDAY, Nov. 4, 11:35 p.m. — A 19-year-old male student in Hinman College’s Whitney Hall accidentally broke a window in the study lounge, Investigator Dennis P. Bush of Binghamton’s New York State University Police said. A 21-year-old female resident assistant was in the RA office with a student when the two heard a loud noise and saw a window break in the nearby study lounge. Officers on patrol arrived on the scene and identified the student who did it. He claimed full responsibility and told officers he had been kicking a soccer ball around when it hit the window, breaking it. Patrol advised the student that he might be held financially responsible, and could be referred to the Office of Student Conduct.

SUNDAY, Nov. 8, 9:49 a.m. — In Dickinson Community’s Rafuse Hall, a female member of Residential Life reported a verbal altercation between a male and a female inside a dorm room, Bush said. The ResLife member heard a loud argument going on in the room, although it had stopped by the time officers arrived. The police knocked on the door, and both the male and female answered. They were interviewed separately in order to ascertain what had happened. The 18-year-old male non-student had been dating the 18-year-old female student, but had driven from Rochester that day in order to break up with her and an argument had ensued. The parties were separated, and the male said that he was going to return to Rochester. Prosecution was declined.
