Book Recycling Fair

Broome County is sponsoring its eighth annual book recycling fair at the Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Broome County. The event seeks to return books to circulation, increase recycling and promote literacy programs in the area. Books can be dropped off at 840 Upper Front St., Binghamton, from now until Saturday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Books will be available to the public at the Book Giveaway Days on Friday, Sept. 22 and Saturday, Sept. 23. WSKG-FM Features Music for Jewish Holy Days

In celebration of the upcoming Jewish holidays, WSKG Public Broadcasting will feature “Days of Awe: Music for the Jewish Holy Days” on two consecutive Thursdays — Sept. 21 and 28 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Part One will feature music related to Rosh Hashanah, and Part Two will present music and information on Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement.

Art Exhibit open now through Nov. 17

“Engaging the Camera: African Women, Portraits and the Photographs of Hector Acebes” is on view at the Binghamton University Art Museum.
