As we begin to wrap up another school year, many of our favorite TV shows are also on their way out. Some we are only saying goodbye to for the season, while others are gone for good. Sadly, the ABC hit comedy ‘Ugly Betty’ is one of those unlucky few.

With its premiere in September 2006, the show was a huge success ‘ bringing in 16.32 million viewers during its pilot episode. Based on the Colombian telenovela ‘Yo Soy Betty, la Fea,’ the American version richly intertwined a hilarious cast with a uniquely entertaining script. Betty (America Ferrera), an unfashionable mess donning both braces and glasses, aspires to become a journalist and instead ironically winds up as the assistant to Editor-in-Chief Daniel Meade (Eric Mabius), of a high-end fashion magazine. As an assistant, Betty has to adjust to the world of fashion and to her colleagues, who continuously make fun of her.

What will always resonate with fans of the show is that at its heart, ‘Ugly Betty’ teaches an important message. No matter where you start in life, if you work hard and stick to your morals, anything is possible. It may seem naive, but that is the spirit that is Betty.

Wednesday was Betty’s final farewell. The episode wrapped up the series well, with all characters moving forward with their lives. Here are five hilarious, important and WTF moments from the four seasons of ‘Ugly Betty.’

1. HOLA! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! For Halloween, Marc dresses up as Betty in the same iconic poncho she wore on her first day of work.

2. The ol’ switch-a-roo. Daniel, who thinks his brother is dead, meets an attractive woman, Alexis. Too bad Alexis used to be Alex, his brother.

3. Brace-face is no more. After four long seasons, Betty finally loses her braces.

4. A role model emerges. Justin, Betty’s nephew, finally comes out and shares his first kiss with boyfriend Austin.

5. Love triangle? What? Even though Betty is supposed to be ‘ugly,’ she still finds herself in the middle of a guy fight between Gio and Henry.
