Bess Greenberg, Binghamton University women’s basketball’s all-time scoring leader, spoke at the first annual “Girl’s Night Out,” Tuesday afternoon at the Events Center. Student athletes, parents and Binghamton-area students gathered for the celebration of National Women in Sports Day, created in 1986 to honor female athletic achievements. Greenberg, now an accomplished photographer, spoke of basketball’s impact on her life and how it remains with her today. Members of the BU women’s track and field team also spoke on how sports are currently shaping their lives. The event was an inspiration to those in attendance and sets a great image for women in sports everywhere.
