At least we can beat Albany at something. On Wednesday the Binghamton men’s soccer team made a statement that New York belongs to them. So what if Albany gets to play basketball on national TV and gets the reputation as biggest party school? We schooled them in soccer! Joking aside, this is a big deal because now a victory or tie over Vermont tomorrow ensures the Bearcats the home field throughout the America East tournament. And an AE title? Well that’s something we can brag about to our friends at Albany.

Pipe Dream’s Golden Pipe Award: Senior forward Joey Neilson has impeccable timing. Neilson waited until the second half of Wednesday’s game to score his first goal of the season, but what a goal it was. With the game locked in a scoreless tie, Neilson took the feed and drilled his shot into the upper left corner of the net, giving the Bearcats the lead for good and sole possession of first place.

Voice of the Fans: “Finally those fat cats in Albany will pay for their crimes. I’m surprised the state government can even run considering how badly we beat them in soccer.” — Jon Albright, senior biology major.
