Remlik’s Grille and Oyster Bar was the perfect place to visit for my photographer, Vera, and I’s last fall Restaurant Week. With a $35 dinner menu, we were excited to spend an evening enjoying the various tantalizing options.

As we entered the restaurant located at 31 Lewis St., we were greeted by a beautiful atmosphere, complete with Victorian-style architecture and ambient lighting. The restaurant was tastefully decorated for autumn, featuring an assortment of pumpkins and fall leaves. We were seated at a neatly set table to begin our meal. Throughout the dinner, our server was extremely attentive and friendly, giving us recommendations and ensuring that we were enjoying our meal.

The appetizer course featured four options — a garden salad, the soup du jour, bruschetta or crispy shrimp. I opted for the bruschetta, which featured fresh tomatoes seasoned with garlic and basil atop a crispy crostini. Vera upgraded to the French onion soup, which was rich with onion flavor and topped with a generous portion of melted cheese. The appetizers were fantastic and we couldn’t wait for the rest of our meal.

The entree course consisted of five tempting options, but Vera and I both had to try the prime sirloin. This was easily my favorite course of the meal. The steak was perfectly cooked and topped with a velvety mushroom burgundy sauce. The potatoes were beautifully whipped and seasoned to perfection with butter and salt. The vegetable de jour was fresh green beans, which were crisp and well-seasoned. The other entree options included chicken parmesan, sesame-encrusted ahi, Atlantic salmon and penne alla vodka.

The upscale atmosphere of the restaurant drew in locals and students alike to take advantage of the high-quality food at a discounted price. As we ate, we took in the fancy, yet comfortable, vibe of the restaurant and appreciated the classy dining experience.

When we arrived at the dessert course, Vera and I both knew we had to make room for the incredible selection, which included two kinds of cheesecake, a chocolate torte and banana pudding. We debated these options for a long time before I opted for the pumpkin cheesecake, which came drizzled in a delicious caramel sauce. The dessert was reminiscent of fall, featuring cinnamon and pumpkin flavors, which complemented a perfect graham cracker crust.

Vera decided to get the chocolate torte, which was drizzled in chocolate sauce. The torte was rich with dark chocolate flavor and had a fudgy texture that we both loved. The dessert course was a perfect end to an already fantastic meal, and we left feeling satisfied and excited to return.

We were fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit Remlik’s Oyster Bar and Grille during this Restaurant Week and experience their limited-time menu. The service was incredible, and our server was accommodating and attentive. Remlik’s provides an upscale atmosphere that all can enjoy during a fun dining experience.
