Students at Syracuse University faced disappointment when rapper and performer Fetty Wap failed to show up to SU’s Juice Jam concert this Sunday. The event was planned by the University Union, the programming board of Syracuse University.

According to the University Union’s Facebook page, the artist did not show up due to “unforseen travel delays.”

“Fetty Wap was unable to arrive at our venue at the agreed time,” the post read. “Unfortunately, we could not push back his performance time. We understand and share your frustration.”

Following the event, students took to Twitter to express their disappointment in the Fetty Wap’s lack of appearance.

The concert was originally slated to include Fetty Wap, as well as performers Tove Lo, Marshmello, D.R.A.M., Stephen and Lolo. According to Syracuse University’s newspaper, The Daily Orange, 9,000 tickets were sold, and students did not receive refunds.

This is something that has happened in the past, when Fetty Wap didn’t show up to his concert at SUNY Brockport, as well as being late to his show at University of Georgia. Students at SUNY Brockport were given a refund according to The Stylus, the college’s student newspaper.

According to Max Maurice, vice president for programming for the Student Association, they are still looking forward to a successful event.

“This is something that has come up in the past with the Brockport incident that we’ve been weary of,” said Maurice, a senior majoring in electrical engineering. “As of now, SAPB has done everything in its power to prevent a scenario like that from happening. And with that being said, we still intend on planning for an awesome fall concert in October.”
