If this were any other year, the television season would just be winding down as workloads and finals begin to wind up. But, this is not any regular year, shows are just getting going after a lengthy hiatus because of the Writers Guild of America strike. There are plenty of episodes of your favorite shows to get you through the dark times known as “Finals Week.”

What’s ahead: Serena and Chuck continue the family bonding and Serena’s boarding school chum (Michelle Trachtenberg) hits the scene to stir things up on the Upper East side. Meanwhile, a male character is “outed,” Blair and Jenny continue their social battle and Jenny tries to get a boyfriend. Look for a wedding, break ups and hook ups to close out this tawdry drama’s season.

What’s ahead: Liz’s ex-boyfriend Floyd comes to town and needs a place to stay … and in the next episode Liz has a pregnancy scare. Jack considers Liz as his successor once he gets promoted by GE and guest stars Will Arnett, Edie Falco and Chris Parnell return.

Thursdays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
What’s ahead: A health problem for Jack forces Kate and Juliet to work together, and Sawyer and Co. face problems on their trek to the beach.
GREY’S ANATOMY
Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
What’s ahead: Addison returns to Seattle Grace and gets caught up on all the gossip and changes that have happened while she’s been busy over on “Private Practice.” Creator Shonda Rhimes wrote a column for TV Guide promising a “big kiss” in the two-hour season finale.
