Lock: Seattle (-3 1/2) over St. Louis

Well, I had my best picking ever last week, picking three out of four right, but still losing on my lock. That’s right, 0-5 on locks, but this week I’m pretty confident that my lock will finally come true. This game’s a really huge lock, a “master” lock if you will. Seattle was embarrassed by the Bears last time out, but all that proved is that the Seahawks are the second-best team in the NFC. St. Louis has managed to win four games without playing very well, and Seattle should cruise in this West Division showdown.

Upset Special: New Orleans (+3 1/2) over Philadelphia

Until further notice the Saints cannot be defeated in the Superdome. The odds makers clearly are supporters of terrorists and hurricanes by making New Orleans underdogs in this game. Rooting for the Saints is our duty as Americans and I will once again pick them, especially because I hate the Eagles. And as always, this pick of the Saints comes completely based on personal biases and gut feelings, and not statistical analysis. REGGIE BUSH RULES!

Game 1: Denver (-15) over Oakland

Rather than taking the betting advice of this section, bettors really should just go by this credo: when in doubt, pick against Oakland. Oakland is easily the worst team in the NFL, while Denver, with thrashings of New England and Baltimore under its belt, has proved itself to be among

the AFC elite.

Game 2: Baltimore (-3) over Carolina

The Ravens were brought down to earth by Denver on Monday, but their defense should be able to neutralize the Panthers at home this week. Carolina is 1-4 against the spread this year, while Baltimore is 4-1 against the spread.
