It was a flashback to the 1990s when Eve 6 hit the stage at Magic City Music Hall Friday night. A mixture of BU students and locals crowded into the Johnson City venue to see the band along with opening bands Merit and Wheatus.
Eve 6 hit the stage around 9:45 p.m. and played a mixture of new and old material. Their self-proclaimed graduation song “Here’s to the Night” seemed appropriate as another school year winds down.
“I never meant to write a graduation song but here goes,” Max Collins, lead singer and bassist, said.
The band’s hit “Inside Out” got the crowd jumping in the air while feelings of nostalgia were in the hearts of all.
The bands made it a personal experience for the concert goers by engaging in conversations from the stage. Speaking to audience members, Wheatus discussed their favorite show, “Lost,” during their set. Eve 6 took time to meet with fans and signed autographs after the show.
“I loved Eve 6 when their big album came out in 1998,” Morgan Mears, junior biology major, said. “I’m happy that I got to see them now. The show lived up to my expectations.”
