Becoming a college student can be a scary time for some, especially in these troubling times. We here at Pipe Dream would like to alleviate your fears, offer some advice and show you what is in store for you at Binghamton University with our 2020 Orientation Issue!

Get to know some of the important figures on campus. Ranging from administration to student government, these individuals can help you transition into the campus community. Get a preview of the locations and facilities around campus, as well as some ongoing construction projects and planned improvements. We also included a list of our top 10 articles from the past decade to show you what we do and have been doing as BU’s oldest and largest student-run news publication.

With the cancellation of campus events, BU’s marquee spring event, Spring Fling, did not occur. However, we chose to host our own virtual Spring Fling by highlighting some student groups and organizations that make our campus special. Ranging from bird-watching to tap dancing, incoming students have a plethora of different clubs and groups to explore.

Read up on some of our columnists’ experiences at BU and their tips and tricks for success. Additionally, our very own staff compiled some words of wisdom to get you through your first year and make the most out of your college experience.

Although they were cut short this year due to the pandemic, check out what BU’s sports teams have to offer. In this issue, we named our Male and Female Athletes of the Year, as well as our Coach of the Year.

We know this is a tough time to become a college student. While the uncertainty of our predicament continues, we hope that this issue will provide a semblance of hope and assurance that BU is the school for you. We hope you enjoy and thanks for clicking!
