'Unsatisfactory' firm spams students for 'honor society'

The Outstanding Student Honor Society sent 'invitations' to most, if not
all, students. Soon after BU officials found out about the unsanctioned
mailing, Vice Provost H. Stephen Straight's office released a message
on B-Line to caution students of the society.

Federal Magistrate Judge Frank Maas, class of '72, spoke at an alumni
event about ethics and the courts. The speech was moderated by two members
of the award-winning Mock Trial team. Judge Maas, who graduated from Harpur
College, addressed about 50 alumni, faculty and students. Ferris D. Lebous
'76, an acting state Supreme Court justice, also sat on the panel. Behind
Maas is Robert de la Fuente, Harpur College's assistant director of development
and two members of the BU mock trial team.
