Graduation is 11 (!) days away and in these next few highly emotional days I need all the distractions I can get ... unfortunately — well really, fortunately — I don't have any finals. What is a 22-year-old boy to do with himself while others fret about their tests and make the last minute reservations for relatives? Besides the obvious, "jerk off!" response, I've come up with a few plans for myself, and they work for you too, boy/girl of any age or class rank!
Television. Lots and lots of television.
I plan to marathon "Battlestar Galactica" hardcore. Finish four seasons in a week? It's possible. I watched all of "Lost" in about three weeks last year, but that was with finals. "BSG" should be doable.
Explore.
I want to take advantage of the area. I've never been to the Ithaca gorges, in fact I only explored Ithaca once and that was for an article on vintage clothes. I want to take to the road ... rather, have somebody take to the road and I'll tag along.
Find a job!?
Yeah, that's not going to happen. But I can try, like I have been for the whole year. Caitlin Sweeny, the assistant news editor said, "You have the job-seeking skills of a ninja." Now to just get passed those informational interviews ...
Rediscover my youth.
My friend Chris and I have been playing X-Men Legends for the past few weeks. With our busy schedules we've really only been playing late at night, sacrificing our health (I have the Strunk flu now, I should put "Get better" on my list of things to do too) and sleep to beat Magneto and save the world. We're one stage away from ending and I have X-Men Legends 2 lined up.
Youtube
I often turn to Youtube for emotional support. Last year it was a fanvid about Lilly Kane from "Veronica Mars" set to "I Will Remember You." I'm already being emo, so this year I'll need something as a pick me up. I expect this video to be blasting from my Mac on an hourly basis.
