Reach into your pocket, pull out your wallet and have a look inside. Chances are, being a college student, your wallet is probably not brimming with cash. You could get a job at a local store or restaurant, but that can be tedious and boring. There are more creative ways to earn some money, like sperm or egg donation, babysitting, housekeeping, stripping or even selling your blood for some quick cash.

But, sperm donation is often depicted in films and television as a quick and easy way to make some dough. In movies such as "Road Trip," people walk into a local sperm bank, get some porn, fill a cup and go on their merry way with some cash.

Sperm donation is a lot harder than it looks - no pun intended. Joe Jaoct, a technician at Park Avenue Fertility in New York City, said that sperm donation is not a course of action that should be entered lightly.

"It is a long screening process that involves many tests," Jaoct said. "There are many conditions that will rule out a candidate such as adoption or being rejected as a blood donor."

If you do pass the many tests and fulfill the requirements, you can donate your sperm for around $50 for each deposit. After your donation, it is in the hands of others to decide if your sperm is worthy of fertilizing their egg.

"It's like auditioning for a Broadway show," Jaoct said. "You have to have good qualities to get picked."

If selling your bodily fluid doesn't strike your fancy, perhaps you should try utilizing your other talents. Housecleaning may be a quick way to make some money that does not involve losing any fluid.

You could start out small by advertising yourself on bulletin boards and see if anyone is interested in your cleaning services. Dan Nieves, a sophomore management major, said that his friend had an idea that would put his cleaning skills to good use.

"My friend wanted to go around charging students to clean their dorm rooms," Nieves said. "It's a good idea but I'm not sure if it would actually work."

Babysitting is another quick way to make some cash. It's also a good way to interact with children, especially if you're interested in teaching or childcare.

Start by posting fliers with your information in the offices of different departments on campus. Professors, professionals and staff are regular people outside of Binghamton University, and would probably enjoy a night off from their children.

Going green is all the rage right now and you can make some cash by doing so. You can start collecting cans and bottles after your friends have parties and recycle them. You can bring them to a local grocery store, like Wegmans, and return them for some easy money. It will pay off in time and you will be doing your part to help the environment.

When it comes to making cash in college, it seems that some students are open to being very creative. Joe Petrolawicz, a senior theater major, said his friend found a way to make some extra money on the weekends in a different way.

"My friend used to have a hot dog cart and would sell hot dogs on State Street on the weekends," Petrolawicz said. "He would make a lot of money on drunk kids leaving the bars."
